Boom-SHaKa-Loco Silly Surf Social Nov 18th

Boom-SHaKa-Loco Silly Surf Social Nov 18th
Saturday at 8 AM – 3 PM
Surfers Helping Kids (SHaKa) is hosting a family friendly surf social to raise money for their next humanitarian project in Sunzal, El Salvador (see details below). There is no entry fee, but people will have an opportunity to make donations for contest t-shirts.

There will be whacky surfing events for all ages, such as the Brutal Noodle, the Crazy Raft Rider, the Finless Frenzy, and various age-bracketed co-ed contests. Judges will select 1st–3rd place winners in most events, and prizes will be given at our awards ceremony. There will also be some fun non-surfing events (e.g. sandcastle building contest). Space is limited in the various events, and its first-come first-serve.

Free registration will take place at a Luau hosted by Long Doggers (Cocoa Beach) the evening of Friday, November 17th.

Please print, complete, and bring the registration form for each participant to the Luau at Long Doggers on 11/17 (6:00–9:00pm). Time permitting, we may also allow some registrations at the beach on the day of the event.

If you would like to be a sponsor for this event, please shoot us a message.

2018 SUNZAL PROJECT: April 2-9 our team of 15 volunteers will lodge at Villa Surf and serve in Sunzal, El Salvador. Participants pay their own travel expenses (flights, lodging, food, etc.) so that all SHaKa donations can be used for service projects. On our next trip we will:

• Work at the Remar Orphanage
• Conduct a violence prevention surf camp for local kids.
• Host dinner, games, and a movie at the Remar Orphanage.
• Purchase, pack, and deliver groceries to local families in need.
• Offer a women’s ministry event.

If you would like to participate in this Surf and Serve project, we have a couple more openings. Contact Mark Reynolds.

The funds raised at the Boom-SHaKa-Loco Silly Surf Social will be used for this humanitarian project. Thanks for your suport!
